Busking London Underground

Posted by Dalia

Having to make plans for a trip to London is never all bad.  Even if it’s a business trip with a lot of meetings, there’s still the plain fact that you know you’ll be in London, and that’s always exciting.  There are a thousand things to do at any given time here, and even a short trip to the city will put you in the center of one of the world’s truly great cities.  It has a fantastic history, with generations of royalty, musicians, poets, and writers who have graced the city with their presence and their various talents.  Today it is a thriving metropolis, with many different cultures and subcultures living here and making their contribution to this bewildering place.  London has a certain magic that is always lovely to visit, and when you’re booking your London hotel, you’ll have the chance to start daydreaming right away.

There is a splendid feeling about being here, and our hotels are selected to make your stay in this complex city easy and worry-free.  Your hotel is always waiting for you, so you can refresh and regenerate your energy for seeing more of the beautiful culture happening all around you.  Chances are good that you have an idea about the things you want to see, but if you’re looking for some of the best underground performance, you don’t have to go very far.  The real underground, you can tell your friends, is really underground.  The London Underground started licensing street performers in 2003, and now there are hundreds of performers in London’s tube system, performing every week.

Street performer, or buskers as they are properly known, make their living by playing instruments, singing, making up hiphop songs with boom boxes, clowning, or doing a variety of art forms.  They have always been a good sign of the liveliness of a city, and of course, some of the biggest cities attract the most street performers.  London is one of the unique cities in opening channels so that they can register and be legit, with licenses to work their magic in the subway.  Don’t be afraid to tip the ones you like, that’s how they make their living.
