Ben charged through the front door hollering I won!! I won! Amy came running into the hallway to see what the commotion was all about and saw a disheveled frantic looking Ben starring wildly at her and waving his hands. I won he shouted, I can’t believe, I actually won! Amy told him to calm down before he woke the baby, but Ben was extremely excited and to jump and say it one last time before he actually calmed down. Oh, and it was Amy’s nephew Jared that she was baby sitting who was in the other room sleeping, Ben and Amy didn’t have any children, which Ben hears about frequently enough from his parents.

When Ben had calmed down he and Amy when into the living room and sat down on the couch to discuss what he was talking about. It turns out that three months ago Ben had entered a drawing at the local sports bar where he plays fantasy football. He didn’t know exactly what he was registering for but he thought the girls that were handing out the registration cards were cute. After that night he didn’t give the experience another thought until suddenly while he was eating wings and jalapeno poppers with the guys there was an announcement declaring the winners of the recent drawing. It turns out that Ben won a week’s stay in his choice of any of the South Africa five star hotels. The prize package also included airfare and car rental.

Amy could hardly believe her eyes. She had always considered Ben’s time at the sports bar her time to hang out with her friends or her quiet alone time, and this was prize enough. She had no idea that it would ever lead their actually getting to visit another country such as South Africa. The couple discussed where they would like to stay and couldn’t decide on whether it would be better to go to one of the beautiful coastal areas or explore the geography and culture of the mainland. Amy thought it might be best to pick a city like Johannesburg when they determined they would have to decide later because Jared was awake from his nap and crying.
